The Bicentennial Torch in Guanajuato, México
The Bicentennial Torch was recently completed and it’s now fully operational in Guanajuato, Mexico. The theme the designer Jose Clemente Orozco picked is inspired by the mural “Lucha social” (in English: “Social struggle”).The torch is held by Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, the leader of the independence, who leads the insurrection with the flaming torch in hand. The monument is a 45 meter tall structure that highlights the main entrance to the city of Leon in Guanajuato,Mexico. The steel structure…
