The Rock Copper Glass is a rustic residential project remodeled by the architectural practice of cdrg+Red Team (Canadian Disaster Restoration Group) and it is a mountainous region of Canada.
Spreading over a surface of 5500 square feet, the designers wanted to evoke the comfort and rustic elements present in a mountain retreat while also integrating the contemporary touches. There is a large amount of natural stone inside with BC fir and raw metal to ensure the wanted setting and this offers a perfect response to the site with a solid structure that is integrated into the environment.
The interior is connected with the outdoors through expansive glass windows with timber frames to increase the visual impact and the front entrance and façade were aligned with the midday sun since a side of the garage was designed as a retaining wall.
The materials of the outdoors continue inside to create a rustic and contemporary setting with a palette of metal, concrete, glass and timber textures combined with a white tone.
