The Riggs Place Residence located in the Westchester are of Los Angeles, California was designed by the practice of Soler Architecture with a highly open contemporary aesthetic that combines a large array of colors and materials for a welcoming and joyful ambiance.

The structure has an L-shaped layout around the outdoor swimming pool and the rear side of the house opens to the large yard with a great view of the city and nearby mountains. Spreading over a surface of 6500 square feet, the limits of indoor and outdoor were blurred through the implementation of large sliding doors in the patio as well as cantilevered roof planes that connect the one floor and two floor masses together with anthracite zinc cladding and bamboo furnishing for extra warmth.

The inhabitants are ensured privacy from the neighboring homes through steel screens at the entrance which also shelter from the western sun’s heat and the clerestory windows on the other side open the home to the ocean.
