Designed by the architectural practice of Iosa Ghini Associati, this home is located in the city of Bologna, Italy and it also has the purpose of a showroom, apart from being a cozy home that mixes traditional and contemporary elements.
According to the designers, the project is a home-studio-workshop and showroom, and it features a qualitative restructuring of the original building that tries to conserve some of its elements while also bringing them up to date.
Spreading over a surface of 600 square meters, the most important things the project focuses on are the comfort of the clients, the beauty of the house and the sustainability of the whole, and the designers tried to achieve these goals with the aid of high quality materials.
The restructuring consisted of the redesign of the southern façade for which the wall in that side was demolished and a new façade also with the purpose of a solar energy collector was put in its place offering protection to the plants nearby. The house also includes a private study, a fitness area and a living room furnished with custom made objects to create a truly Italian residence.
