Peacock Chair by UUfie

The Canadian firm UUfie, specializing in design of architecture, landscape, interiors and furniture, created this Peacock Chair with a simple but elegant aesthetic that is inspired by its namesake bird’s tail.

The chair was made from a single sheet of DuPon Corian plastic and it was cut to resemble the open tail of the bird as a sweeping curve creating a delicate motif similar to lace throughout the framework. Although the carefully cut piece might appear fragile, the material was made structurally strong through a thermoforming process to ensure its durability.

The monochrome chair can find its place either indoors or outdoors and there are three versions available, – a limited edition in large or smaller sizes either colored or white. The Peacock Chair was presented at the Design Miami exhibition as a part of the Galleria Rossana Orlandi collection and it is at present on display at the Spazio Rossana Orlandi in Milan, Italy.
