The Russian billionaire Vladislav Doronin who is the boyfriend of the famous British supermodel Naomi Campbell commissioned Zaha Hadid to design a futuristic home which resembles a spaceship in Barvikha, Russia.

The spaceship “landed” in a picturesque setting with birch and pine trees surrounding the residence and it has the living and dining spaces on the ground level while the higher levels lead to a 22 meter tall tower which hosts the private quarters.

The Capital Hill Residence was built in 2011 and it spreads over a surface of 2650 square meters being divided into two components, one merging with the hillside while the other floats above the ground to create a dynamic view of the forest.

The fluid geometry of the exterior is carried out inside as well creating a dynamic interior which is always in connection with the landscape due to the abundant use of floor to ceiling windows. The color palette is neutral and tries to enhance the light, while the wooden flooring adds a bit of warmth and coziness to the otherwise futuristic setting.
