The practice of Maienza-Wilson Interior Design + Architecture created in 2011 the Butterfly Beach residence in Montecito in Santa Barbara County, California, USA.

The project includes five bedrooms, five bathrooms and spreads over two floors with a surface of 3548 square feet with additional features such as a wrap-around terrace which offers a great view of the ocean and island, a security gate to the private peach easement, a separate cabana suite, a swimming pool, a wine cellar and a three car garage which also includes a charger for electric cars.

Another great feature of the project is that it is one of the first places in the region to receive the LEED Platinum certification due to its multiple sustainable features such as the radiant floor heating, the dough resistant grass on the ceiling, photovoltaic solar panels for the whole house, an insulation with icynene spray foam and a 5000 galon cistern under the building for rainwater storage which will be used for garden irrigation.
