The practice of Central Arquitectos created in 2012 the Bo Zen Bar in Braga, Portugal which is designed in a stylish combination of oriental and occidental mélange that takes luxury as its main target and offers a cozy and splendid ambiance.

The space, spreading over 465 square meters, is located in a preexisting building and the client wanted the Bar to have the aspect of a private living room, thus making the visitors feel more at home than in the regular bars. The materials used are noble ones such as marble, wood and gilt metal to provide warm colors and different textures for the fabrics to provide comfort and style. The large hall that gives entry inside the bar is designed in a contemporary style and it makes the connection with the ‘living room’ section.

The minute ceiling which immediately attracts attention is a reinterpretation of an oriental motif and its delicate meshes are emphasized with the aid of the indirect lighting to create the dazzling effect. The entire lighting was designed so as to increase the wonderful design elements of the place and the use of mirrors also puts the important elements, such as the ceiling, more into focus.
