This residential project located in Bidart, France was renovated by Atelier Delphine Carrere to bring a contemporary aesthetic and functionality to the home near the ocean with a traditional exterior that combines half-timber surfaces with wood and roof in tiles.

The hillside location provides a good viewpoint for the surroundings and the designers opened the floor plan by taking down the unnecessary partitions while using materials such as wood, resin, marble, glass mosaic and leather to integrate with the original charm of the place in which the old beams were still preserved.

The garage hosts a swimming pool above it to fit into the landscaped garden and the entrance inside is quite low bringing you in front of a staircase with folded steel slides. The flooring is made of oak parquet and the illumination inside comes from Viabizzuno for a cozy atmosphere that still evokes the age of the building without reducing any functionality.
