The Apartment H+M located in the 15th district of Vienna, Austria was designed by the Studio destilat to adapt a turn of the century space into a contemporary loft with classical elements.
The apartment spreads over a surface of 1400 square feet and the historical parts were preserved to bring more complexity into the setting. The living room and kitchen were integrated into a single space and transformed into a children’s bedroom while an additional bathroom was added here with the bed placed in an alcove next to it.
The main bathroom includes a sauna since the cloakroom was removed and the master bedroom was also expanded through the enveloping of a small room next to it that became the walk-in closet space. The cement tiles of the original space were restored to bring out the architecture of the building and the furniture pieces brought into the setting were created by Studio destilat as well for a perfect fit.
