X2 River Kwai is a resort located on the Kwai Noi River in Nong Ya, Kanchanaburi, Thailand and it was designed in 2014 by the agaligo studio with a modern interior and stunning views toward the mountain range and river.

The structure is surrounded by rice paddies, sugar cane plantations, temples and villages, offering a restaurant and bistro, a library as well as an outdoor deck with an infinity swimming pool, all of the spaces created with elements from the historic architecture of the region.

The LuXe Cabin guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the river from their decks and the Pool Xide Cabin guests have their private raft terraces with access to infinity pools. The main materials used in the design are concrete, OSB boards, mountain stone and steel, all of them locally sourced and brought together into an aesthetic that was defined as “unpretentious luxury” by the designers.
