Located in the Bronx in New York City, The Yankee Stadium is one of the most beautiful baseball stadiums in the ‘US (and the entire world as well) and it was opened in 2009 when it became the new home of the New York Yankees when their original stadium got closed.
Its design is largely inspired by its predecessor and is also designed as a shrine for the team. Although its construction began in 2006 the building took so much time to complete due to several problems like the fact that it was built on a former public park and more importantly its cost.
The project took 1.5 billion dollars to complete and this exorbitant sum makes it the most expensive baseball stadium and the second most expensive stadium of any kind, being surpassed only by the MetLife Stadium.
The designer for the project was Populous and they used limestone and granite along with concrete for the exterior of the stadium to make it resemble the original 1923 stadium. The interior is adorned with plenty of photos from the team’s past and the seats are also laid the same way as in the original one and there are around 51000 seats available.
