Located in Sydney, Australia the Lilypad house gets you all the seclusion you want. The comfy atmosphere is rendered by low walls and ceilings and this is a very powerful contrast since the near by houses are very huge. The house also has a courtyard opposite to a park.
Jorge Hrdina Architects are responsible with the design of the Lilypad House. They wanted to offer the inhabitants of the building all the privacy they could get without a sense of confinement. This is why there are no walls between the park and courtyard.
The architecture of the house is “user friendly” since it eases the access for wheelchairs. The house seems spacious due to the timber laminations and the twin portal frames .
