The Gervasutti Refuge in Italy is an amazing Prefab Tubular Alpine Pod Home, a perfect example of a sustainable design, energy efficient and made out of high-quality materials. This is a solar powered tubular mountain cabin installed on Mt.Blanc with the use of helicopters.

Even if this pod is a temporary structure it offers shelter from the bad weather to mountain climbers who feel adventurous .The structure doesn’t impact the nature in any way, being the creation of Leap factory. LEAP stands for Living, Ecological, Alpine Pods, so this is why the architects summed up all their effort, talent and creativity to create this wonderful pod.

The structure weights 5,500 pounds and has 100 square feet of space in which it can receive up to 12 people. The good thing about its design is its flexibility and the fact that it is modular, allowing its relocation in any other place. The roof of the pod has solar panels that produce 2.5 Kwh of solar energy, making the pod be energy sufficient. The process of installing the panels took only two days.
