Takeshi Hosaka architects designed this unique residence located in Yamanashi, Japan that is called the “outside in” resicence. This project aimed to mix the outdoors with the indoors, inserting nature inside the house and if we look closely at the structure of the building the indoor and outdoor spaces seem to dissolve in each other.
The inside of the house has elements and scenes from the nature which make the entire atmosphere seem fresh and peaceful. The house it’s a single story villa that was designed for a family with three children. The southern part of the house has a façade which has a beautiful surface that is collapsible and transparent.
You can also notice the garden, that is partially sheltered and what is interesting about the overall design is the saw toothed roof shape and the V beams that seem to attract the natural light in. The division of the rooms was made based on their functions, so this is why in the north you’ll find the bathrooms and bedrooms-that seem so secluded and private while the south has the public areas.
