Stanhope Gardens is a private home in South Kensington, London, England spreading over a surface of 1800 square feet and its interior was designed by the Yeang Creative studio with a luxurious aesthetic that maintains the nature of the grade II listed building while also adding contemporary features.
The apartment has four bedrooms and new connections were created between the rooms to allow the addition of en-suite bathrooms. The new doorways were designed in the same style of the existing ones and they maintain the same nature as the traditional ones.
The wall between the front room and the back one wasn’t in the original design so it was removed while maintaining a clear reference to the original wall alignments when providing a double door access between the kitchen and backroom on the third floor of the building.
The historical character of the building was maintained in the restoration but some areas required contemporary additions so the kitchens and bathrooms were brought up to date with the use of materials such as wood veneers and marble.
