Sprecher House by SAOTA

The Sprecher House located in Hangklip, South Africa with a stunning view of the ocean was designed by the practice of Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects in collaboration with the Antoni Associates studio for the design of the interior.

The owners wanted a home that would take its inspiration from the surroundings since the site is a part of the Sea Farm Private Nature Reserve on a peninsula that offers a view of the Hangklip Mountain as well as of the ocean.

The layout is linear with large verandas and pitched roofs created with natural materials such as sandstone, ash-grey wood and charcoal metal for the roof. The view required extensive glazing and outdoor terraces to see the surroundings from each room and due to the nearby mountains the climate here is more moderate so the inhabitants could enjoy the outdoors for a longer period of time than is usually the case in the region.
