The design is intricate since it combines different cultures, without overbearing the atmosphere of the place. It was the idea and design of Karim Rashid that brought the Silk Road restaurant to life and it is located in Las Vegas,in the Vdara Hotel. A touch of Mediterranean style and trade market clashes with the extravagance of the Merchant Route,in a design that captures both history and imagination.

The sculptural fiberglass seating acts as a separating element-secluding the bistro area-that tries to copy the style of a typical Merchant Meeting house-from the cozy, private booths that are found in the dining room area.

The design of the restaurant was created in such a way to use the natural light during daytime, while at night the ambient light will offer a very romantic ambiance. There is a dynamic status of the place, apart from the bright colours used on the walls, the curvy aspect of the walls that seem to be formed of 3 different layers help render the idea of dynamism.

The pink windows collide with the gold mirror and its pattern, rendering the aspect of an Oriental design. The fiberglass furniture is also designed by Karim and it is set on a beautiful gold glass reflective floor. The piece du resistance is the bar that is set below a rendition of restaurant itself.
