The architectural practice of Miralles Tagliabue EMBT designed the Rector Office of the University Campus of Vigo with a concrete façade and a program which hosts the chancellor’s and vice-chancellor’s offices, the press office, the general secretary, administrative personnel and meeting rooms with a radial layout.

The shape of the structure is that of a rectangle and it follows the guidelines dictated by the classroom building next to it with a concrete façade in which the texture resembles the decomposition of the Mondariz granite from the metal profile combined with oak carpentry in the shape of a T to create an interplay which continues indoors.

The stairs connecting the floors are illuminated from the light above and the spaces inside open to the surrounding ones to create frames throughout the structure so that each room is bright and interconnected.

The main room is the auditorium projecting over the spaces between the tripartite structure and the dialogue with the surrounding structures is made evident through the choice of materials, namely the granite which was used for the steps outside, for the pavement on the square and for the details of the façade mosaic.
