Located on Bainbridge Island in Washington State, the Olympic View House was made especially for a couple that just retired from careers they had in the academy on the East Coast of the United States. BC&J Architecture were the ones responsible with the design of the this story house.

The site on which the house is found proved to be a challenge for the architects because they had to modify a lot of elements in the structure of the building so that it fits the surroundings. The house is 2,700 sqf and when you reach the upper floor you can notice a beautiful piano and the spaces here are divided into an office,a guest bedroom ,a media area and a bathroom.

The style of the house renders the contemporary aspect of the Northwest Regionalism that respects and includes three important elements: light, presence and massing.Since the weather conditions are a bit harsh in these areas, the architects had to take this into consideration,as well.

The Olympic View House is called this way because it reveals the landscape of the Olympic Mountain Range and the view of Port Orchard Narrows through a glazing membrane.
