The C.F. Moller Architects practice designed the New North Zealand Hospital in the vicinity of the Hillerod city offering a modern hospital for the citizens with a surface of 124000 square meters and the project will be completed in 2020 offering services to the 310000 persons living in the region.
The budget for the hospital if of 3.8 billion DKK and it will be in line with the Frederiksborg Castle nearby offering a highly functional design that integrates with the surrounding landscape and provides recreational spaces for the citizens.
The focus of the design is on the patient with a very organic and soft design that gives access to landscaped gardens and green roofs from the treatment buildings and to courtyards. The complex has its scale diminished through the fact that the designers divided the structure into two elongated curves which also mark the entrance to the city toward the north and to the new railway station to the southeast.
