This project is located in Minhang and it is the largest single investment that the Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd. made in China so far and it features a structure that spreads over a floor area of around 297000 square meters on a site of 119000 square meters.

The project is designed by the award-winning architectural practice of Aedas and it began construction this year after a ground breaking ceremony. There are two sites planned, one is the Mapletree Business City and the other is VivoCity.

VivoCity is designed as a double looped mall that offers the highest efficiency. Its design is inspired by the traditional Chinese symbols and the façade is reminiscent of a bamboo basket that fishermen used to keep their catch. This is a symbol for wealth and prosperity and thus quite fitting to the project.

The project construction is planned into three phases the first and last focusing on the Mapletree Business City and second phase on the VivoCity thus creating the first large-scale commercial and retail development in the district. The first phase of the construction is planned for completion in 2015.
