Nelson Resende designed this law office for Dra. Sandra R. Almeid located in São João da Madeira, Portugal, a minimalist office that was completed in 2011, which measures only 49,80 meters. The office can be found in the proximity of São João da Madeira Court and it is part of a commercial, residential building.

Even if the space doesn’t allow too much flexibility, since its quite small, the designer created the idea of space – having added a small washroom to the place, too. One of the tricks in the design is the insertion of large windows that render the idea of space and also fill the office with natural light during daytime.

In order to increase the space, the walls were demolished and they were replaced by wardrobes. This is how the problem of storage was solved. The project had a practical approach, since the materials used were cheap and the contruction was done faster than expected.

Wood panels were used for the pavement, furniture and the walls to make the space seem wholesome and welcoming. Although the interior is pretty simple, the design has a contemporary touch, making the entire office seem unique and personalized.
