The Lake House was designed by the practice of Mutabile Arquitetura in 2012 and it is located in Capitolio, Minas Gerais, Brazil on the edge of Lake Furnas so the layout is highly open to provide a view of the surroundings from all rooms.

The circulation paths were marked with overhead illumination and there are three sections into the residence defining the social area, the family room and the guests’ area. A ramp gives access to the social area with an indoor swimming pool, overhead doors and a structure of glass and metal to provide a full view toward the lake.

The living room has Cumaru wood deck and it extends to terrace and outdoor areas with barbecue and with overhead lighting. There are rough stone slabs combined with Cumaru Wood to delineate the winter garden pergola which is separated from the TV room.

The interior is connected through a staircase which gives access to the billiard room and bar, while the outdoors have an additional staircase to lead to the sauna.
