Il Lago dei Cigni is a luxurious restaurant designed by The Gallery HBA architectural practice for the owners of the Buddha Bar in St. Petersburg, Russia and it offers contemporary Italian fine dishes in a setting inspired by the Russian folklore tale of the Swan Lake.
The restaurant is on the Krestovsky Island and its main dining space has panoramic windows to surround the footprint with a central column and chandelier, creating the impression of myth and fairy tale. The pillar of the dining area is clad in selenite rock crystal and it leads to the ceiling with a canopy of shimmering crystals that combine with the copper wires for a dazzling ambiance.
The cabinets between the tables exhibit different items like bottles, candles or glasses and there are glass domes with mounted beetles or butterflies on display. The artistic fixtures are custom made and you can also enjoy pen and ink studies of swans as well as French manuscripts that bring a vintage touch to the elegant interior.
