The Hudson Yards is a Master Plan designed by the Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates architectural practice to transform a desolate area of New York into a contemporary neighborhood with residential areas, offices, hotels and retails spots.
The project is planned for 2018 but we already have renderings of the buildings with dynamic spaces between them. The designers want a zone where the housing offers are reasonable, with the latest sustainable features, great cultural features and a diverse architectural mix.
The main gathering place for the residents is a large park along the Hudson River waterfront which will link the river with the High Line district and the Hudson Boulevard Park. This area will be populated with commercial, residential and retail areas, restaurants and galleries as well as Class-A office areas to maintain the status of Manhattan as the most important commercial city in the world.
