The House in Rubianes is a small residence located in Pazo de Rubianes, Pontevedra, Spain which was designed by the practice of Nan Arquitectos as a concrete block with glass to connect it with the surrounding natural landscape, so that it could serve as a holiday retreat.
The project spreads over a surface of 49 square meters and has parallelepiped geometry at the ground floor with an opening toward the south. The design is eco-friendly, minimalist and focuses on efficiency so it is no wonder that it took only two months to complete.
There is a side that can become an intimate space or an outdoor zone depending on the large window separating it and the other side of the façade was enclosed for more privacy since it faces the neighborhood homes. The interior layout permits all areas to visually communicate with one another, except for the bathroom which is in the service area with the wardrobe and kitchen.
