Johannesburg-based studio Nico Van Der Meulen Architects designed this incredible residence that can be found in Bedfordview, a suburb of Johannesburg in South Africa. The designers had to renovate a 1950s house and the result was an contemporary home with an impressive design and made of modern materials.

The house is a three story structure with a spectacular design that makes it stand out. The inside and outside spaces are separated with floor to ceiling glass walls that fill the house with natural light all day long and allow guests to enjoy stunning, unobstructed views of the city.

The biggest challenge that the architects faced at House Lam was the design of the infinity edge pool that’s actually cantilevering over the first floor. Another interesting feature of this massive house is the huge and imposing rock clad wall that seems to split the residence into two parts.
