HBKU Student Center by Legorreta + Legorreta

The Hamad Bin Khalifa University commissioned the architectural practice of Legorreta + Legorreta to design their new student center in 2011 which is located in Doha, Qatar as a multifunctional project that provides healthcare, social support, psychological counseling, financial aid, lodging and recreational areas for the students.

The complex can accommodate more than 10000 students into the relaxed ambiance, allowing them to interact with each other with ease and to carry out their activities in an efficient way. The interiors have complex geometrical patterns and a large array of tones and textures to offer a stunning contemporary aesthetic, created to emphasize some of the key elements and to improve the quality of the services offered.

The complex includes meeting rooms, conference rooms, three ballrooms, an art gallery, cinema, Black Box Theater, a beautiful sculpture garden, bowling center, arcade room, TV lounge, games room, fitness areas, a food court for meals, retail areas and two prayer rooms.
