Google office in Zurich by Camenzind Evolution

The Camenzind Evolution architectural practice designed the Google office in Tel Aviv (covered by us here) and they also created the Zurich office for the EMEA Engineering Google employees after inquiring them about the emotional and practical needs they have.

The space is the transformation of a local brewery into a 12,000 square meter office area for 800 employees. The pictures might not give you the impression of an office space and this is due to the thematic rooms and bright colors employed for the project that might seem more appropriate for a children’s playground.

The layout is bright due to the open areas than visually connect with one another and the former brewery is now an office area with retail spaces, residential units and even a hotel spa incorporated but most of the space is the Google office. Each workspace of the company wants to make a statement about the way in which we see work and about how we can use cheap, eco-friendly materials to make a pleasant setting.
