Eternity puzzle in Perth by ARM in association with CCN Architects

The Eternity puzzle is created through collaboration between the practice of ARM Architecture and Cameron Chisholm Nicol, and its design is a reference to one of the oldest buildings in Perth, namely the Roundhouse in Fremantle which has twelve sides.

The futuristic design of the exterior tries to emphasize the importance of Perth to large-scale sports or entertainment events and thus the designers used the ALUCOBOND aluminum composite and painted the structure with Arena Blue, Cream, Black, White and Silver Metallic. These colors try to evoke the venue’s multiple purposes and they do so by offering a different face from each angle.

The Perth Arena also prides itself with great acoustics and its retractable roof can be opened in 7 minutes to allow outdoor events. The main arena can host up to 15000 persons but there are also several multi-purpose event rooms and food and beverage outlets.

The building also includes one of the largest solar power arrays in the Western Australia and it also includes several other sustainable features such as mixed mode natural ventilation, displacement air conditioning through the seating and fittings and fixtures that are WELLS rated.
