De Wet 34 was designed by the practice of SAOTA in collaboration with OKHA Interiors and it consists of a luxury family home in the Bantry Bay, Cape Town, South Africa.

The site is on the slopes of Lion’s Head overlooking the bay and the house provides the entire functionality of a home while also taking maximum advantage of the wonderful location. Thus the structure has four floors with an open plan which also ensures each area has its own identity.

The street façade is minimalist with redwood and grey as the main colors and it leads to the courtyard and to an entrance gallery which features an impressive geometry with raw textures such as rock, timber or concrete as the main materials.

The living area has a double volume and is oriented toward the sea while also opening toward the courtyard and the pool terrace. It has sliding glass doors that completely open to create a stronger link with the exterior. Below is the atrium leading to the bedroom floor and below it lie the guest room and the playroom area thus offering something for everyone.
