The Corte San Pietro is an impressive hotel located in the city of Matera, Italy and it was designed by the architect Daniela Amoroso with a historic interior made of rough stone walls and heavy ceiling beams left visible to create a rustic ambiance.

To contrast the ancient aesthetic of the interior, the designer used carefully selected pieces of furniture that increase the overall functionality of the hotel without hindering the overall style. The choice for such a historic look is due to the location of the hotel, which is in one of the most ancient cities in the world, containing evidence of human settlements from the Paleolithic era.

The building is in the Sassi district and it was built during the XVII century with a restored internal courtyard which was transformed into a hotel after the removal of everything that was added after the original construction, revealing the tufa stonework and the vaults so that the hotel rooms offer a unique experience with a very intimate ambiance.
