This Communication and Information Center located in Vilnius, Lithuania was designed by the practice of Paleko Arch Studija and manufactured by Hunter Douglas who is the world leader in window coverings and a large manufacturer of architectural products.
The contemporary structure hosts the Vilnius University Library and it s Science communication center with a quiet and green environment surrounding it. The university campus will bring a lot of new educational facilities on the site and the pinewood near the library is at the intersection of the main pedestrian path with the access road.
The interior has an amphitheater and plaza to welcome and guide the visitors with a glazed entrance hall and a ground floor that hosts a conference hall, cafeteria, reading room and an open air terrace. The façade is clad in terracotta elements combined with glazing to create a visual connection with the woods and illuminate the trees during the nighttime.
