Designed in 2009 by the architectural practice of Rahola Vidal, this child school also has a nursery on its ground floor and it is located in a peaceful neighborhood of Can Nebot in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, Eivissa, Spain.
The project also includes a small children’s house in the center and there is also a garden. The main school has four classrooms with a bathroom area, a multi-purpose room, a changing room for the staff, kitchen and dining area for the teachers, a principal’s office and the additional maintenance areas.
The main material used is concrete with windows oriented toward the courtyard and several skylights on the corridor and classrooms to provide illumination with various shapes. The playground has a recycled wood on the roof and it was brought from the beach to provide protection from the sun in the courtyard.
The interior walls have blackboards to allow a surface for drawing and throughout the entire project the elements are designed in children scale to ensure optimal functionality.
