The Caruso men’s wear company recently opened a new flagship store on via Gesu 4 in the Montenapoleone shopping district of Milan, Italy, and the project wants to showcase the large collection of clothes in a setting that was designed to look as the backstage of an opera house, so that the customers can feel as if they are getting ready for a performance.
The entrance leads to a central aisle covered in antique wood and with a skylight to allow sufficient natural light inside. The suits and accessories are placed in laddered units in the wings of this area and also hang from curtain ropes.
The historical elements of the building were preserved and the plastered walls make the interior more textural. The core element is the art installation created by the artist Giuseppe Amato to recreate the Teatro Regio in Parma with wooden bas-reliefs for the audience and the curtains ready to be raised for you.
