The Bluetrain Restaurant located in Melbourne, Australia was re-designed by Studio Equator to celebrate their twentieth anniversary.

The restaurant is also known as the “People’s Café” offering “Aussie Fusion” cuisine in a vibrant and non-pretentious ambiance. The purpose of the design was to establish an emotional connection with the clients through the honest manifestation of their core values, so, although the overall project might seem eclectic, is thus only because it represents the unique sense of style and humor found in Melbourne.

The main dining area is covered with graffiti art pillars which were painted by street artists, the illumination is industrial, there are concrete walls and this combination gives the interior a unique ambiance in the spirit of the Jazz and Soul music of the 1950s.

The function room has a wall with 14 custom designed bike wheel lights and a 15 meters wall which is completely covered in reclaimed stenciled vinyl floor tiles to create the feature wall for the functions of the room.
