The Auditorium of the city of Bondy, France was designed by the PARC Architectes practice as a landmark for the outskirts of Paris and it hosts the Radio France Choral Singing Conservatory as well.
The project has a hangar-like architecture with an undulating metallic encasing that opens to its surroundings through several arches to permit natural light inside and to connect with the city. The interior has a carefully considered acoustic to serve its main function and the simple aesthetic was inspired by the suburban architecture nearby.
The main focus of the designers was the auditorium room which contains the latest technical and acoustic facilities. There is also an exhibition area aside from the auditorium and the conservatory. The ground floor gives access to the hall toward the auditorium, a bar and the exhibition space, while the second and third floor host the more private areas such as the choral singing conservatory wrapping around the auditorium.
