The Estudio Barozzi Veiga architectural practice designed in 2011 this Conference Center in Aguilas, Spain with a simple but highly efficient contemporary style that integrates perfectly with the beautiful landscape.
Called the Auditorio y Palacio de Congreso, the project contains a large auditorium, several smaller theaters and the auxiliary facilities needed for it to function. The geometry of the project is a cubic with a fluid concave façade reflecting the surrounding topography. This way the conference center contributes to the region’s look and tires to integrate into it rather than disrupt it.
The interior has large spaces filled with natural light through the floor to ceiling windows and it provides beautiful views of the Aguilas coastline. The ground floor and the first floor are linked through an impressive large stairway and the entire project spreads over a surface of 6410 square meters with a total budget of 22.9 million euros.
