The first Apple store in Istanbul, Turkey was designed by the Foster + Partners architectural practice as a two-floor outlet in the main plaza at the city’s Zorlu Center.
The store has a glazed façade allowing the customers to have an overview of the shop before entering and the project is comprised of a single internal volume which appears very spacious and clearly defined.
The project looks like a rectangular lantern with light coming above the ground and offering a view of the store below which is directly connected with the shopping mall. The color palette is neutral with the white Apple logo visible at the entrance and an interior in which gray tones predominate in combination with light wooden furniture, ensuring a simple yet elegant space.
This is the first collaboration between Foster and Apple since the development of the Cupertino Campus in California is still under construction (we have covered it here).
